December 1, 2022

The Take Two Drama Club of Sussex Central High School announced its world premiere workshop performance of “A Pickwick Christmas,” a new play by Los Angeles actor/director/writer Brian Lohmann.

The play will be presented at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, and 2 and 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Premiere Centre for the Arts at Sussex Central High School, 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown.

Tickets are $12 each. Families may attend under one general admission ticket with children 12 and under entering free. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. There will also be an option to purchase tickets for a livestream of each show for those who cannot attend in person. To purchase tickets, go to bit.ly/3Or7XMD.

This delightful holiday play – perfectly suitable for children, teens and adults – is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved novel “The Pickwick Papers.” It chronicles the travels and misadventures of Mr. Samuel Pickwick and his fellow Pickwick Club members Tracy Tupman and Nathaniel Winkle in the English countryside.

“We are proud to be the first group of any kind to present this fantastic comedy,” said David Warick, Take Two advisor. “We have a wonderful group of actors representing every grade at Sussex Central, and they are perfecting their British accents and improvisational skills.”

Warick hopes students and their families will attend for some great holiday laughs and to enjoy this great new show,
