Sussex County is nearing the end of a $350,000 infrastructure project that will repair a sewer line crossing under Rehoboth Avenue Ext., at the western entrance of the road to Route 1.
County Engineer Hans Medlarz said the sewer pipe had settled in the existing casing. He said a new casing running parallel to the old was installed April 29, and he expected the work to wrap up in the next couple of weeks.
Medlarz said this project was a two-year effort, starting last winter. He said the second stage had many complications and, by the time it’s finished, will have taken 10 weeks to complete.
