Sussex Tech supports Sussex County farmers
October is National Farm to School Month

During National Farm to School Month in October, Sussex Tech recognizes local farms that supply fresh fruits and vegetables for student lunches.
Sussex Tech buys apples, strawberries, sweet corn, watermelon and cantaloupes from Delmarva farms to supplement menus planned by Sussex Tech Child Nutrition Services coordinator and registered dietitian Andrew Hade.
Sussex Tech buys apples and melons from T.S. Smith & Sons of Bridgeville. Tom Smith, one of three brothers who owns the 111-year-old family farm, delivers produce to Tech every Tuesday during season.
