Tales from Lewes’ past set July 18 at Dogfish Inn

Historical society, craft brewery collaborate on fireside talks
July 15, 2019

Murders on the high seas and other off-centered, lesser-known stories will be the subject of fireside talks to be presented by the Lewes Historical Society from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 18, and Thursday, Aug. 15, at Dogfish Inn, 105 Savannah Road in Lewes.

This collaborative concept of fireside talks was formed around Dogfish Head’s distinctive approach to beer-making, and the historical society’s education staff expanded on that.

Period actors will entertain attendees with obscure, little-known stories that have been told for centuries. “These will be tales from Lewes’ past that border on mysterious,” said Marcos Salaverria, LHS director of education.

Dogfish Head refreshments will be available to attendees at least 21 years of age, for $5 per beer. Admission is free, and registration is not required. All proceeds will benefit the educational department of the Lewes Historical Society.
