Lewes and its surrounding neighborhoods are facing significant challenges, including threats to our supply of clean water, treatment of sewage, management of traffic to handle an onslaught of overdevelopment, and the need to protect the natural environment and historic resources that make it such a special place.
Yet we’re also in danger of something else – the rampant idea that we need a fresh, new approach to handle the challenges. That’s what we’ll get if Ric Moore or Andrew Williams is elected to be our next mayor. Two good people who, nevertheless, would face a steep learning curve due to their lack of qualifications.
Because the fact is, governance is difficult and time-consuming, and dependent on deep real-life experience. This is why Ted Becker is the only candidate with the qualifications and grace to do the job. Yes, he’s been here forever, but that’s the point, since he’s worked his way up through several levels of responsibility en route to his current role. Today, Lewes is special – and prosperous – because of his leadership, which is more important than ever with a city council that’s now comprised of people with no more than a few years of experience.
Be smart about our challenges and our future. Vote for Ted Becker.
