Terris L. Cannon, made everyone smile

October 23, 2020

Terris Lamont Cannon, 63, of Bridgeville, was born Nov. 28, 1956, to Shirley Cannon and Pernell Edwards. He entered into eternal rest Friday, Oct. 9, 2020.

Terris received his early education from the Seaford School District. Later in life, he went back to school and graduated to obtain his GED.

Terris gave his life to Christ at an early age and has been running the journey ever since. He was a member of Power in Praise Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Carlos Cannon.

Terris made everyone he came in contact with smile, whether it was him telling a joke or simply giving someone a word of encouragement. No matter what, he always found a way to let someone know about the goodness of the Lord! He was a very hard worker and was willing to help in any way that he could. Terris loved to detail cars, complete yard work, and attend car shows. Besides his love for Christ, he loved his family.

Terris was preceded in death by his father, Pernell Edwards and daughter, Lakeshia Reid.

Terris leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Barbara Cannon; mother, Shirley Gibbs; seven children, Tisha Cannon, April West-Brittingham, Renee Godwin (Shawn), Terris Cannon Jr. (Tilecia), Tylisha, Jamane Gantt, and Alexuis Cornish (David); six close siblings, OlaMae Alsam, Donna Gibbs, Michelle Gibbs, Daniella Gibbs, Damon Gibbs; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
