A Texas man faces burglary charges after police say he broke into a Dewey Beach area home Oct. 30.

Police went to the home at 10:07 a.m. on Coastal Highway after a cleaning lady reported the glass to the front door was smashed and items inside were damaged, said Cpl. Jason Hatchell of the Delaware State Police.

Troopers contacted William Wachtell, 28, at the front door and he was taken into custody without incident.

Wachtell was transported to Troop 7 where he was charged with first-degree burglary and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $9,000 unsecured bond.
