Thankful for tourists in Rehoboth Beach

August 23, 2019

This time of year everyone complains about all the tourists in town. But today I am very grateful for them.

On Saturday night I tripped and fell while walking on Rehoboth Avenue. I badly scraped my knee, and luckily my husband was able to stop me from hitting my face on the cement.

Immediately people stopped to ask me if they could do anything, and I said I would be alright. But I was bleeding and feeling kind of sick, so I was so thankful when someone handed me a cold bottle of water. Another person brought me a cool wet towel.

We had walked over from a friend’s house and we were trying to figure out what to do when a wonderful couple from Salisbury, Md. offered to drive us to the house we were staying in.

I was overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers and will always be grateful to the tourists who took time from their vacations to help me.
