Thelma G. Shepperly, enjoyed time with family

Mrs. Thelma G. Shepperly, 81, of Georgetown and formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully in the care of her family and the Delaware Hospice Center Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.

Mrs. Thelma was born in Baltimore, Md., Sept. 4, 1936. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ada Mills; her biological parents, Harry and Julia Sullivan Robinson; her beloved husband, Donald J. Shepperly who passed Oct. 9, 2016; two sisters, Bessie Graham and Hazel McIlvrid; as well as a brother-in-law, Wallace Pusey.

She was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Chi Chester Wesleyan Church in Boothwyn, Pa., and loved going on trips with her church family. Thelma was a patient and kind person, an amazing grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Frey and her husband Jeffrey of Georgetown; two sisters, Nancy Pusey of Media, Pa., and Edith Cross and her husband Thomas of Claymont; two nephews, Thomas Cross and John Graham; and a niece, Linda Racine. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Chelsie Rathfon and her husband Trevor; and two great-grandchildren Leighonna Lynn and Trenton Lee who were a very special part of Thelma's life.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 2, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Burial was held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery where she was laid to rest with her husband.
