With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Thomas William Harmon, 86, who died peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach after a long illness.
Thomas was born Jan. 28, 1940, in Millsboro, where his roots and love for the area remained throughout his life. He attended Hollyville School and graduated with honors from William C. Jason High School before earning a degree in mathematics from Delaware State College.
Thomas briefly taught mathematics before beginning a career at Kraft General Foods in Dover, where he spent more than 30 years in upper management. He believed deeply in hard work, education and providing for his family. He was a member of the Nanticoke Indian Association.
More than any professional accomplishment, Thomas loved his family. He took pride in their successes, enjoyed time spent together and found his greatest joy in being a husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Annette (Morris) Harmon; his son, Darren Harmon (Cathy); his daughter, Sharon Harmon-Robison (David); his granddaughters, Sasha Perry and Elise Harmon; and his grandsons, Chase Harmon (Blair) and Hunter Harmon.
The family will hold a private remembrance. There will be no formal public services.
