Three face drug charges following search of Lewes apartment

Three people are facing felony drug charges following a three-month investigation in Lewes. 

Lewes Police in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Administration executed search warrants April 20 on an apartment in the 100 block of Second Street, resulting in the arrest of Vincent J. Vecere, 41; Melanie M. Warrington, 31; and Naome D. Charles, 45, all living in the apartment. Police seized 324 packages of heroin, 47 grams of methamphetamine and six grams of cocaine. Police also found brass knuckles belonging to Vecere.

All three individuals were charged with manufacture/delivery/possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier 3 and Tier 2 quantities, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, second-degree conspiracy, maintaining a drug property and other related offenses. Vecere was also charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

Vecere’s bail was set at $74,100 secured cash only and he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute. Warrington’s bail was set at $37,200 unsecured.

Charles was found to be a federal probationer and had previously been arrested for drug and weapon offenses in another state. Her bail was set at $170,400 secured cash only; she was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute.
