October 14, 2019

Three Seaford residents died Oct. 13 after police say their car crashed into a utility pole.

Austin Moore, 23, was driving a 1998 Mercedes E320 passenger car at 1:03 a.m. southbound on Wesley Church Road south of Cannon Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car and exited the east edge of the road, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.

The car then struck and severed a utility pole, she said.

Moore and his passengers Matthew Tull, 26, and Jacob Tull, 23, were not properly restrained and they were all pronounced dead at the scene, Jaffe said.

Wesley Church Road in the area of Cannon Road was closed in order to the repair the utility pole.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
