To benefit Children & Families First and Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware
July 11, 2018

The Fourth Annual Southern Delaware Wine, Food & Music Festival is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Independence Hall, the Independence community clubhouse outside Lewes. This years’ beneficiaries are Children & Families First and Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. Organizer Stacy LaMotta is pleased to announce that SoDel Concepts is the hosting sponsor again this year.

Better known as SoDel Fest, the event features as many as 20 dishes prepared by regional chefs and paired with more than 40 wines, beers or spirits. The festival also offers live music. Tickets are available now.

”More than 500 guests attended the event in 2017,” said LaMotta, founder of Creative Coastal Connections Corp., the 501c3 corporation that organizes the festival. Along with wine and food, the event includes a spirited competition between local chefs. “This year, we will host the Battle of the Beaches: Lewes versus Rehoboth,” she said.

The “Chopped”-style competition will include a mystery basket of ingredients. Each team must create a dish using all of the items. They can also use ingredients from a provided pantry.

In addition to the main festival Saturday, SoDel Fest will hold A Taste of Tuscany, a six-course wine dinner with winemaker Conte Manfredo di San Bonifacio Friday, Sept. 28, at The Clubhouse at Baywood in Millsboro.

SoDel Fest has raised more than $60,000 for nonprofits. For more information, go to www.sodelfest.com.
