The integration of both the beach and town residents, coupled with the business community, is essential to the future of our vibrant town. Lewes needs a new beginning, a new administration, possessed with a heart and soul. A culture that reaches out in an honest effort of transparency and equitable treatment. As my friend Randy Burton lamented in the past ... “a bridge that spans the river" as opposed to one that does not go far enough. A bridge that connects young and old, past and future, dreams and reality. A few years ago, seated at Striper Bites, owner Matt DiSabatino warmly greeted me. He asked, “Where have you been?” “Boston,” I replied. Matt said, “There is an election for council and my very good friend Andrew Williams is running. Do you know him?” “No.” “He is a great guy and I hope you will consider him.” Thank you, Matt. I did with no regrets. This voter is thankful that a man of his caliber, in his prime with a career and young family, who is deeply rooted in Lewes would serve this town. Andrew is a down-to-earth man, a capable visionary and not a band-aid reactionist. Andrew is a solid thinker with depth and a finger on this city's pulse. Andrew is more than capable of managing all the facets of our emerging town. As mayor of Lewes, Andrew will bring a consistent tone to all our concerns. We can rest easy. We will be in good stead. After more than 15 years of constant angst dealing with a broken city, I conclude it’s time for a cool change. I will vote for Andrew Williams.
