Tour 684 offers local creations in prize pack May 7

May 5, 2021

In addition to offering a fun way to explore unique stores and more in Milton, Tour 684 will be featuring creations by local artisans from 3 to 7 p.m., the first Friday of the month, May through October.

Participating vendors will provide a product in a prize pack each month. For a chance to win, attendees can take a selfie at the event and upload it as a profile picture using the "Tour 684 Circa 2021" Facebook Frame and tag #Tour684.

Handmade copper tulip earrings by Windmill Hill Studios are among the prizes for the May 7 event. For their making, a raw sheet of copper is placed in a rolling mill and impressed with a pattern. The patterned piece is then placed on a silhouette die where a 20-ton hydraulic press forms the copper into a shape. The shape is annealed with heat to make the metal soft and flexible. Once annealed, the earrings are pierced out with a saw, all edges smoothed with files and sanding discs, and patinated with liver of sulphur to bring out the design. Handmade sterling silver ear wires are then added to a soldered jump ring on back and all is sealed to create a beautiful pair of earrings.

For the inaugural event, Windmill Hill Studios will be at Brimming Horn Meadery, 28615 Lewes-Georgetown Highway. To view all participating locations and vendors, go to tinyurl.com/tour684map.
