Tracy Hynes of BHHS Gallo raises funds for food bank

December 11, 2018

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty sales consultant Tracy Hynes recently hosted her Beer for the Bank fundraiser at Crust & Craft restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.

Hynes bought a Dogfish Head beer for anyone who brought a nonperishable food item to the happy hour she held Nov. 28. She and her fellow agents, family, friends and clients donated a total of 267 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Delaware.

She also raised $185 in cash for the food bank through raffles for a 50-50, a chance to win a stay at the Dogfish Inn valued at $300, and a Stella Artois beer and beer glass gift basket.

Hynes said, “I started donating to the Food Bank of Delaware about 20 years ago with the staff of my company [that I just sold].It helped me to develop a great team that was dedicated to serving those less fortunate in our community. It was gratifying to see the excitement in my teammates as we started our annual food drives. When I made the career change to real estate, I still wanted to be able to continue that service to the Food Bank of Delaware. That's how Beer for the Bank started this year. I’m hoping that each year, the event grows so we can make the donations much larger and continue to help those who are fighting hunger in our area."
