Trail lights won’t protect Milton residents

November 12, 2020

Mostly all of you have relied significantly on outside sources (one gone police chief and apparently the new police chief included, et al.) “ Lights will protect the residences of West Shore Drive.”  Wrong.

Statistically speaking, based on research I have done that is not the case; 65 percent of burglary occurs between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., when residents are not home. The most common hours for the burglary are between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Some statistics say that lights actually allow the burglars to case the home more easily, resulting in targeted home invasion. A resounding number of the families who responded to my survey (88 percent) stated unequivocally that they do not want lights on the trail.

Plus, the incidence of home invasion is reduced even further in areas with less dense population visa vis Milton.

Please revisit the whole idea of lights before it is too late.
