Trick-or-treat activities in the Cape Region

It’s the spookiest time of year. There are lots of activities in the Cape Region to keep ghouls and goblins of all ages happy. 

Friday, Oct. 29

• Millville Boardwalk will host trick-or-treating from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29. For more information, go to fb.me/e/227CRBhTh.

• Sussex Family YMCA will host a fall festival and trunk or treat event from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29. The event is free and open to non-YMCA members. It will include a variety of family-friendly, safe and socially distant activities. To learn more, go to ymcade.org/fallfest.

UPDATE: Dewey Beach Partnership’s trick-or-treat and haunted bonfire scheduled for Friday, Oct. 29 has been canceled due to forecasted heavy wind and rain.

SATURDAY, Oct. 30

• Bethany Beach businesses will offer trick-or-treating from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, at approximately 40 participating locations displaying trick-or-treat flags. Other family-friendly activities will take place the same day during Wags, Witches & Warlocks Halloween Festival. Go to capegazette.com/node/228940 for more information.

• Ellendale’s yearly Candy Rain event will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30. It is a teal pumpkin event, which provides treats for children with food allergies that may not be able to have traditional candy. There will be a costume contest per age group. • Long Neck UMC Sunday School at 32051 Long Neck Road in Millsboro will present a free drive-thru trunk ‘n’ treat community outreach event from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30. A large Halloween bag full of candy, toys and treats will be provided for each child in a vehicle when exiting the parking lot, while supplies last. A total of 100 treat bags will be handed out. 

• Hudson Fields will be celebrating Halloween with a trunk-or-treat from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30. Trunk participants are encouraged to start set up at 4 p.m. and come prepared with enough candy to share with at least 100 kids. Go to facebook.com/HudsonFieldsDE for more information.

• The Children’s Fantasy Trail at Cape Henlopen State Park will be open from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, but not Sunday, Oct. 31 as previously listed. Trick-or-treat with storybook characters along a trail lined with jack-o-lanterns. Admission is $6 per person. Trail is dependent on the weather. Call 302-645-6852 for updated information.

• Dagsboro’s trick-or-treating will be 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30. Rain date is Sunday, Oct. 31. For more information, go to dagsboro.delaware.gov.

• Town of Milton’s trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, coincides with the chamber’s new event, Wicked Weekend. Fantasy and haunted trails will be set up in Milton Memorial Park. Go to capegazette.com/node/226807 for more information.

• Downtown Rehoboth Beach merchants will host trick-or-treating from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, after a fun-filled day of Sea Witch Festival activities. Go to beach-fun.com for more information.

Sunday, Oct. 31

• All three Tanger Rehoboth centers will be hosting trick-or-treating from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. New this year will be a trunk-or-treat event at Tanger Outlets Seaside, located next to Shopper Services under the pergola, that features live music, games, bouncy house and more. • Cape Artists' Gallery will hand out treats until 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. To learn more, call 302-644-7733 or go to capeartists.org

• Milford’s trick-or-treating will be 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. For more information, go to cityofmilford.com.

• American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 will hold a trunks for treats event from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, at the post pavilion, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro. There will be lots of goodies and fun. The event is open to the public to decorate cars and bring the kids. If weather is ghostly, the event will be held in the bingo hall. For more information, contact June Jones at 484-571-9214.

• Bridgeville will host a downtown Trunk or Treat Loop, as well as traditional trick-or-treating throughout the town from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. Go to bridgeville.delaware.gov/events for more information.

• The parking lot next to Conley’s United Methodist Church will host safe and child-friendly trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. Conley’s UMC is located at 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes, off Camp Arrowhead Road. Trunks for treats features decorated auto trunks in themes that are not scary, not gory and not ghoulish, just fun!
