Tyler J. Givans, loved sports

May 10, 2019

Mr. Tyler Jordan Givans, 26, of Laurel passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Tyler was born Oct. 31, 1992, in Milford, to Gary D. Givans Jr. and Tango L. Decker Rogers.  He was employed at Brass Sales Inc. as a sales representative. Tyler was a graduate of Laurel High School Class of 2011. He loved sports and played men’s slow pitch, and he also coached girls’ youth travel softball. Tyler was the life of the party, outgoing and though he thought he could dance, “the jury is still out on that one.” He was an all-around good guy who was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father, Gary Givans Jr. and stepmother Brandy of Laurel; his mother, Tango Rogers and stepfather Brian; three sisters, Peyton Givans, Hayden Rogers and Kenley Rogers; as well as one brother, Zachary Givans. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Gary Givans Sr. of Millsboro; and maternal grandparents, George Decker of Dagsboro and Mary Jane Decker of Millsboro. He also leaves behind the family dog, Carley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Tyler’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the Laurel Wesleyan Church, 30186 Seaford Road, Laurel, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
