Tyler Ondree Short Sr., Mediacom employee

Mr. Tyler Ondree Short Sr. of Frankford, 56, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Mr. Short was born Sept. 19, 1963, to the late Harold and Doris Blake Short.  He was employed by the Delaware River & Bay Authority in Lewes for 21 years, and then worked for Mediacom until his retirement due to illness.  

Tyler was a lifelong resident of Frankford, a graduate of Indian River High School and attended Antioch AME Church in Frankford.  He enjoyed sports, motorcycle racing, fishing, listening to loud music and loved cars.  He was calm, quiet and well regarded in the community.    According to his children, he was the definition of the No. 1 Dad. 

He is survived by a son, Tyler Ondree Short Jr. of Cape May Court House, N.J.; a daughter, Tanay Purnell of Berlin, Md.; and one brother, Derrick Short of Frankford.  He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Dayari Mills, and a grandson, Daquan Mills as well as a niece, Latoya Williams, and two nephews, Derrick Short Jr. and Markese Foreman. 

A funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 13,  at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call  from 11 a.m.  to noon for  viewing and visitation.  Burial will follow at Antioch AME Church Cemetery in Frankford.
