On Wednesday, the United States beat Bosnia and Herzegovina by the score of 2-0. It actually could’ve been a lot more. Except for the first five minutes of the game, the U.S. dominated. Bosnia could not play consistent offense for most of the game. The U.S. will play Belgium in the Round of 16 on Monday. Belgium came back to beat Senegal 3-2 after being down 2-0 very late in their game. At least we don’t have to play Brazil, Argentina or England, but this game is going to be difficult anyway. Unfortunately, the U.S. lost forward Folarin Balogun, one of their most important players, in this game because of a weak red card. So this will now require someone else to have step up and fill his shoes. 

The 76ers pulled off a surprising trade this week for Boston Celtics star player Jaylen Brown. I’m very excited about the prospects for the team next year because of the trade. The surprising part was that the Sixers only had to give up Paul George and two future first round draft picks. Jaylen is only 29 and can score wherever he wants. He must’ve been very disgruntled for the Celtics to give up on him so fast. I hope he continues to play as well as he did last year when he steps in with the 76ers this coming year!

The Phillies split their last series against the Pirates. I can’t complain very much about that because the game on Thursday was played in 102-degree heat. We knew that one of the teams was going to wilt and that was the Phillies, who are much older overall as a team. The Phillies now have a long road trip for the next nine games. They’re only two-and-a-half games behind the Braves for first place in the division. The Braves continue to struggle, 3-7 in their last 10 games. Go Phillies!!!
