Virtual art auction to benefit PAWS for People Aug. 9-15
Building on the success of last year’s virtual art auction, PAWS for People will once again host Art from the Heart, an in-person and online auction of works by local artists.
Online bidding runs Monday, Aug. 9, to Sunday, Aug. 15.
Work will be available to preview online Thursday, Aug. 5, to Sunday, Aug. 8.
The in-person art show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, at the PAWS office, 703 Dawson Drive, Newark. Reservations are required.
To date, more than 70 pieces of art have been donated by more than 30 local artists. Works range from paintings and photographs to 3D pieces.
“We were thrilled with the response to our virtual event during the height of the pandemic,” said Lynne Robinson, executive director, PAWS for People. “The online bidding was extremely popular last year. This year, as things are getting back to semi-normal, we’re hoping for even greater participation in the virtual auction and at the in-person show as our pet therapy programs are needed now more than ever.”
Art from the Heart is sponsored by Dragonfly’s Wings and Jerry’s Arterama. All proceeds benefit PAWS for People pet therapy programs.
