Virtual soft pastel painting class to begin June 10
The Rehoboth Art League will offer the online class Soft Pastel in Your Own Backyard from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesdays, June 10 to 24.
In small studies, participants will concentrate on sketching in their own backyard. Students will explore the amazing variety of greens in the trees, bushes, and other plants, while considering the color mixing in pastels that creates all those greens.
The class will also discuss clouds, skies, flowers, buildings and texture, and possible color combinations to best express them. Instructor and local artist Dolores Andrew will explain the suggested order of planning a composition, alternate surfaces to use with pastel, and safe ways to store finished pastels. The cost of the three-week class is $90 per person.

To use Zoom, one just needs an internet-connected computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone and a webcam or built-in camera on the computer as well as a computer microphone.
