A vote for Khalil (Karl) Saliba is a vote for all

May 7, 2021

My wife Nancy and I would like to lend our support for Khalil (Karl) Saliba as a candidate for the Lewes City Council. Our family has known the Salibas (Dr. Anis, wife Sue, son Karl and sister Nada) for some 40 years. During that time, it was obvious that the foundation with which Karl was so fortunate to be raised in was one of inclusiveness, fairness and respect for all.

Ask anyone who may have spent time in Lewes and they will tell you that as it relates to the Salibas - everybody was somebody, and it did not matter if it was in his office, as a doctor, or in his and Sue’s home as a neighbor or friend.

Specifically, healthcare in Lewes was as close as a phone call away to Dr. Saliba’s office for everybody. There are many local issues that make up the work of the town council. Our country is much divided and moving in the direction of devaluing sections of our nation’s population by individuals who are not willing to have understanding for the solution - thus they are really the problem. The shared respect for dignity and a better quality of life for everyone will always be Karl’s goal. In fact, Karl will listen to all and make excellent proposals as a result of his roots, which afford him a unique understanding of the history of Lewes. Also, if one would take a look at Karl’s background, it is grounded in diversity and proximity. For instance, Karl attended local Cape Henlopen schools such as Shields Elementary and Milton Jr. High. He would later attend St. Andrew’s, University of Richmond, and Howard University School of Law.

In closing, Karl Saliba is a responsible, skilled individual who is ready to be a voice for all in our Lewes community. Therefore, my wife Nancy and I ask you to please press the button for Khalil (Karl) Saliba Saturday, May 8.
