We have always found that those who fight for the rights of others when they have nothing to gain themselves make the best public servants. One of these people is Kathy McGuiness, our state auditor of accounts, who has a primary election Tuesday Sept. 13.
As a small business person, she was named Delaware Employer of the Year for paying a living wage and equal pay for equal work.
Kathy McGuiness successfully promoted a Rehoboth Beach ban on discrimination against LGBT people years before the state Legislature was able to enact a state law.
We have no doubt she will continue to fight for Delawareans if given the opportunity to continue to serve as state auditor, where she will set the policy and hire the professionals to assure that all agencies, subject to that office’s audit, not only operate within their budgets, but also adhere to state law and policies relative to equal pay, equal treatment and equal opportunity for all.
She is not afraid to rock the boat and make unpopular decisions as long as it serves all Delawareans. Kathy will continue to fight on behalf of all of us in Delaware.
We urge you to vote for Kathy McGuiness Tuesday, Sept. 13.
