Walking Hadrian’s Wall Path with the Cape Gazette in tow

June 29, 2022

In early May, Mary Louise and Tom York of Milton walked the Hadrian’s Wall Path for 6 ½ days with the Cape Gazette. The Hadrian’s Wall Path is an 84-mile long National Trail stretching coast to coast across northern England, from Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in Cumbria on the west coast. From the cityscape of Newcastle to the solitude of the marsh at Bowness on Solway, they saw amazing vistas from the crags and walked among sheep and cow herds. The people were friendly, the pubs were delightful and the inns were refreshing.
