Walter Marshall Mumford, farmer, bus driver

Mr. Walter Marshall Mumford, 84, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the home of his daughter, Linda Brittingham.

Born Oct. 28, 1933, Marshall was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Myrtle Mumford; his wife, Betty Ann Mumford; and his daughter, Marsha Ann Mumford Jenney.

Marshall was a 1951 graduate of Millsboro High School. He was a hardworking, self-employed farmer and bus driver for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting and riding around on his property on his ATV. Marshall also enjoyed having a garden and growing many vegetables he did not like and giving them away. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He leaves his daughter Linda Brittingham and her husband Gary; a grandson, Jonathan Brittingham and his wife Laura, and their children Beau, Barrett and Lilly. He also leaves a sister, Darleen Cropper and her husband Wayne, and nephews, JR Cropper (Kim) and David Cropper (Marie) and their families.

A special thank you to Delaware Hospice and Sandy Wilson and her employees Marley, Amy B., Amy C., Beth, Haley, Cindy, and Sierra for the wonderful care for Marshall.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon, with funeral service at noon. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery.
