Washington Football Team takes first place

November 27, 2020

As a result of Thanksgiving day football, the Washington Football Team has taken first place away from the Eagles, which, quite honestly, wasn't that hard to do. They beat the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 41-16 and now have a record of 4 wins and 7 losses. The Washington Football Team deserves to be in first place much more than the 3-6-1 Eagles at this point. The Eagles’ performance over the last two weeks has been terrible, especially last week against the Cleveland Browns. It was like the offense was scared to make a mistake. Carson Wentz needs to trust himself more and throw the ball quicker so that he doesn’t get as many sacks during the course of the game. The defense seems to get tired in the second half because they’ve been on the field too much. I don’t think it’s going to get much better for Eagles fans this week as they come up against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

The college basketball season has started this week. A significant number of games have been canceled or postponed because of the coronavirus concerns. I hope the NCAA has the guts to delay the NCAA tournament until May or June if possible to be able to complete the season. According to the NCAA, they lost a staggering $375 million last year as a result of having to cancel last season's tournament in March.

The top five preseason teams in college basketball include Gonzaga, Baylor, Villanova, Virginia and Iowa. Villanova beat 18th ranked Arizona State on Thanksgiving evening. The nightmare continues with this virus, so who knows how it will all develop in the weeks and months ahead.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their long Thanksgiving weekend and stay safe and well.
