A WAVE of Healthy Meals thanks community

November 28, 2019

A WAVE of Healthy Meals, (awaveofhealthymeals.weebly.com) was established in January as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to  preparing and delivering nutritious meals to our neighbors who are currently receiving treatment for cancer.

We believe the power of healthy nutrition is an important element in the healing process.  With our community partners and through word of mouth, we identify and serve individuals and their families in lower Sussex County.

On behalf of A WAVE of Healthy Meals, we would like to thank all of the individuals, volunteers, community partners and organizations for the generous gift of their time, energy and love.  To date, we have delivered 1,176 food items to families we serve. We are grateful for their participation and inspired by their courage.

We are especially grateful to the Dewey Beach Lions Club for their dedication to serve, and their unwavering support which includes the use of their kitchen, and their belief in our work.  At this time of year, dealing with illness can make the holidays difficult.  But with the kindness of our community, we are reminded that we are a family of neighbors that support and care for each other.

“Be thankful for today, for in one moment your life can change.”
