We need more bike trails in Sussex

June 5, 2020

My husband and I are ever so grateful for those beautiful trails that Dennis Forney so eloquently described, especially in this time of “isolation.”

We are also grateful that we have the time and the means to transport our bikes from West Fenwick up to Lewes to take advantage of them.

What we are not grateful for is that we dare not attempt that trek when the crowds arrive, as it is nearly impossible to get to Lewes during the high season.  We will, instead, be taking our lives into our hands by riding locally where the roads are two-lane, with few to no bike lanes or shoulders.

When will DNREC consider putting in trails “down south”?
