We need to protect all minorities

November 27, 2020

Thank you to Transliance and supporting organizations for the annual Day of Remembrance ceremony held on the designated Nov. 22 date.  It is beyond sad that such a day must be set aside to both recognize and mourn the loss through violence of transgender people worldwide, people wanting only to be who they are.

It is important to remember too that with any minority experiencing endangerment and/or loss of member lives, a holding to account is mandatory; it is, in fact, vital.  And when it comes to helping organizations and, yes, governments that should be working to end violence and hate but choose to do otherwise, these entities must be openly challenged as well. Irrefutable is the need to protect all minorities in their quest for equal protection and justice, and all in the hope of providing generations to come an ever brighter future.  And in such hope lies perhaps the most fitting tribute to those lost.
