William Edward ‘Bill’ Kamin Jr., Henlopen Hotel retiree

William Edward ‘Bill’ Kamin Jr., 72, of Ellendale passed away peacefully at Cadia Healthcare Renaissance Tuesday, May 12, 2020.  

Mr. Kamin was born in Harrisburg, Pa., to William Sr. and Akia Edna (Hammers) Kamin.

Bill was a Vietnam veteran tunnel rat serving in the U.S. Army.  He worked for Bethlehem Steel, and later did maintenance for the Henlopen Hotel after his retirement.  

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and metal detecting at the beach.  He cared about everyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand.  

Mr. Kamin was preceded in death by his mother, Akia Edna (Hammers) Kamin; brother, Charlie; and sister Lawanarose.  

He is survived by his wife, Marty (Gassert) Kamin; children, Bill Kamin, Sue (Troy) Miller, John (Daphne) Kamin, Dan Kamin; father, William (Margaret) Kamin Sr.; sister, Cheryl Cowden; brother, Gary Kamin; stepsiblings, Ruthann, Felicia and Melissa; and grandchildren, John Jr., Alex, Melanie, Mike, Kyle, Damon, Chance, Chris, Lucas, Dustin, Connor and Owen.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, burial services at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro will be private; however, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
