William Lee ‘Bill’ Walker Sr., auto mechanic

William Lee “Bill” Walker Sr., 64, went home to be with his Lord suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, after a brief illness at home.  He was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Milford to the late Hillery and Rachel Absher Walker. 

Bill worked many years as an auto mechanic, both in Delaware and Pennsylvania, having retired from Timmons Amusements in Bridgeville.  He also successfully completed a TV/VCR repair course and enjoyed tinkering with electronics.  Bill had many interests that he shared with family and friends, was an avid follower of NASCAR, cheering on Dale Earnhardt, Mark Martin and Bill Elliott.  He loved camping, fishing and boating both in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and 4-wheeling with his family.  Bill loved the Lord, and for the past three years enjoyed worshiping at Keokee Chapel in Paradise Valley, Pa.  

Beside his parents, he was pre-deceased by his older brothers, Cletis and Gene Donald, and a sister, Mary Lee. 

He is survived and sorely missed by his wife of 25 years Donna Gray Walker at home; his sons William Lee Jr.  (Jessica) of Roanoke, Va., and Daniel Lee (Jennifer) of Bridgeville;  a stepdaughter, Jennifer Christian-Kopp (Cliff); and a stepson John Christian (Maggie) of Milford; a sister, Lisa Davis; two uncles, Mack Absher and James Absher (Gail) all of Bridgeville;  11 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Celebration of Life Services with Pastor Joseph Lecates officiating will be held Friday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m., at the Parsell Funeral Homes  & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St.,  Bridgeville, where a  viewing will begin at 2 p.m.  Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn, and social distancing must be observed by all persons participating in any aspect of the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Cancer Society,1315 Mt. Hermon Road, Suite D, Salisbury, MD 21804, or to the American Heart Association, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
