William T. Worrilow, retired postmaster

William T. Worrilow, 76, of Aston, Pa., and Oak Orchard, formerly of Swedesboro, N.J., passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at his home in Oak Orchard.

He was born in Chester, Pa., Nov. 11, 1941, son of the late William T. and Marie (Borcky) Worrilow.  Bill was a class of 1959 graduate of St. James Catholic High School in Chester.  After graduating high school, Bill proudly served his country on active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-65.  

Bill retired as a postmaster with 30 years of service working out of the Sewell, N.J., Pedricktown, N.J., and Woodstown, N.J. post offices.  While living in New Jersey, Bill enjoyed refereeing for football, basketball and softball games.  He was a member of the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 in Lewes, the American Legion, the Indian River Yacht Club and the St. James Alumni Association.  Bill enjoyed living near the water in Oak Orchard, and spent countless hours fishing and golfing.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Worrilow.  He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Barbara Huddle; his three children, Christina Lavin of Cherry Hill, N.J., William P. Worrilow and his wife Jill of Middletown, and Kimberly Billet of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Katryna Lavin, Noah Huddle, Matthew Huddle, Anna Huddle and Jeannette Huddle; and two sisters, Rosemary Worrilow of Woodlyn, Pa., and Kathryn Van Horn of Upper Chichester, Pa.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, at St. James Dog House, 1499 E. 9th St., Eddystone, Pa.  Interment will be held privately at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bill’s name to the St. James Alumni Association.
