August 20, 2019

A Wilmington man was arrested in Rehoboth Beach Aug. 12 after police said he grabbed the buttocks of another man on Baltimore Avenue and then disposed of a vial containing what police suspected was a designer drug.

Gregg Mongone, 44, was charged with tampering with physical evidence - a felony - as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, offensive touching and disorderly conduct.

He was incarcerated at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in default of $1,250 secured bail.

As for what designer drug Mongone is alleged to have disposed of, Rehoboth police spokesman Cpl. Mark Sweet said the case is still pending with testing being conducted by the Delaware Medical Examiner’s Office. SUBMITTED PHOTO
