Winter Wonderfest kicks off 2021 holiday season

Event lights up Hudson Fields through Jan. 2
November 19, 2021

The Winter Wonderfest Light Spectacular has returned to Hudson Fields near Milton.

Opening with a preview weekend Nov. 19, the annual holiday event officially began Nov. 24.

Unlike previous years, visitors now enter off Eagle Crest Road in order to provide room for queuing in the Hudson Fields parking area. After winding through the light show, cars enter a fantasy forest before driving past Santa near the exit at Hudson Road. Highlighting the show this year are new light displays honoring Cape Region icons, including a large take on the Indian River Inlet bridge, a World War II fire control tower, and a Lewes lighthouse. Also joining the collection is a section of under-the-sea themed lights.

The Light Spectacular is open from 5 to 10 p.m. daily through Sunday, Jan. 2. Cost is $20 per car Monday through Wednesday, and $25 per car Thursday through Sunday as well as Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 27-29. Hayrides through the lights are available from Friday, Nov. 26 through the end of the event.

The event has raised more than $550,000 for Sussex County charities since its inception in 2016.
