Women’s Club of Milton receives state-level awards

GFWC Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs officers recently visited the Women’s Club of Milton to present awards for its activities in 2019.

Outgoing DSFWC President Carla Pyle and several DSFWC executive committee officers visited Mill Park in Milton to deliver awards that normally would have been presented at the annual state convention, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In competition with all of the GFWC Women’s Clubs in the state of Delaware, the Milton club received awards in the following areas: Community Improvement Program Award, first place, pollinator preserve, Kathryn Greig, project leader; Community Service Programs, Arts, second place, Ellen Passman, chair; Conservation, second place, Maureen Blasic, chair; Conservation, Creativity Award, Maureen Blasic, chair; Legislation/Public Policy, first place, Leah Betts, chair; Communications/Public Relations, honorable mention, Barbara German, chair; Fundraising/Development, first place, Linda King, president; GFWC Photography Contest: World in Pictures - Living Things, second place, purple dahlia, Barbara German. 

The Women’s Club of Milton members thank outgoing President Linda King for leading the club through a successful two years, keeping it engaged with the community. The members also congratulate and welcome incoming President Carol Ann Stone to her new role. And finally, the club congratulates all the award winners for their hard work and dedication to the community.

The Women’s Club of Milton works throughout the year to raise funds for its scholarship program and many other charitable contributions. The WCOM appreciates everyone who supports its fundraising efforts and helps make its contributions possible.
