Women’s Club of Milton Free the Girls drive runs thru March 5

Gently used bra donations to help fight human trafficking
January 23, 2021

The Women’s Club of Milton Environmental Committee is collecting new and gently used bras for Free the Girls, an international nonprofit devoted to assisting sex-trafficking survivors with a path to true freedom.

The donations give economic opportunity for these women to start their own businesses by selling bras in their local secondhand clothing markets while they recover and rebuild their lives. The organization currently works in El Salvador, Mozambique and Costa Rica.

Last year, the club was successful in collecting and contributing more than 100 bras for to this worthwhile project. Donating gently used bras can make space in the dresser and make a difference in someone’s life.

Donations may be made through Friday, March 5, at contactless donation points in Milton neighborhoods. Drop-off locations are at 119 Arch St., Heritage Creek; 109 Pond Drive, Wagamon’s West Shores; 27303 Walking Run, Holland Mills; and 206 Dorsey Lane, Cannery Village.

Free the Girls helps sex-trafficking survivors achieve economic freedom, restored health, social well-being, education, and opportunity for a different, hopeful future. With holistic reintegration programs and economic opportunity through bras, these women can empower themselves to change the trajectory of their lives.
