Women’s Club of Milton to host information meeting Sept. 29

The Women’s Club of Milton will host an informational meet-and-greet open house for potential members from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Milton Public Library. Whether lifelong Milton residents or new to the area, all women are invited to attend to learn about volunteer opportunities within the club. 

Organizations and projects the club supports include Milton Community Food Pantry, Milton Fire Department and its Ladies Auxiliary, Kent-Sussex Industries, H.O.B.Y. Leadership Program, comfort bears for hospitals and hospices, Cape Henlopen High School clothing drive, Milton Garden Club, Delaware Hospice, Best Buddies Delaware, Milton Historical Society, emergency gift cards for Milton elementary school students, Milton Public Library, Milton summer concerts in the park, Milton July 4 Back to Mayberry and Code Purple shelters. The club also awards scholarships to young local women entering college. Although the list of causes may change, club members strive to meet needs throughout the community.

The Women’s Club of Milton is a nonprofit organization and a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Meetings are held at 1 p.m., the second Tuesday of the month from September through June. The club also has Zoom meeting ability.
