For the first time in two years, Rehoboth Beach held its annual city-wide, week-long bulk trash pickup April 26-30.
If a person had had driven around in a pickup truck for an hour each morning, they could have come pretty close to furnishing an apartment – complete with office furniture and outdoor patio dining sets. For the more business-minded individuals, another option would have been to pick up the dozens of old grills, fix them up and then resell them.
The following pictures show a random sampling of the bulk trash put out during the week. It’s easy to see there are items put out for discard that would be a significant upgrade on some of the furniture in local summer apartments that will soon be filled with college kids working in the area.
This looks like a fairly decent dishwasher.
A simple yet still-working charcoal grill.
Pull the dead vines off the fencing and someone could create a dog pen. The vines could be used to restring the crabbing net.
I don’t know about you, but these couches are definitely nicer than the couch in my college apartment. Maybe they smell bad.
Mother’s Day is around the corner. How impressed would she be if you rolled up with this chair as a gift? You could say, “Yeah, Mom, I definitely picked up this nice old chair at the high-end flea market and not off the side of the road.”
What’s more green than reusing an old electric lawnmower?

These couches look like the type a person keeps on the porch for the friend who isn’t able to drive home.

All this twin mattress set needs is some new sheets.

This grill might be trash, but it’s clearly led a good life.
This load includes a clothes dryer and a dishwasher. Hopefully, they got the right kind of washer as a replacement.
These chairs don’t even have holes in the butt area.
