Zellers endorses Glass for commissioner

July 6, 2018

It’s that time of the year again - Fourth of July and the Rehoboth beach election season. Summer is heating up.

Three candidates have put their hats in the ring, and I applaud their willingness to serve, for it's not an easy job.

Of the three, my support goes to Gary Glass.

I have known Gary for the past 10 years while he's served on the board of the Country Club Estates Property Owners Association first as secretary, and currently as its treasurer.

Over the last year-and-a-half, he has completely revamped the association's dues process to an electronic format with great success. Using diplomacy and persistence, he reduced the number of delinquencies and mailing costs by almost 75 percent.

I believe Gary has the energy and drive to do the hard work this job requires, and the commitment to put in the time it necessitates. He is passionate about the city, and will work for and listen to everyone's point of view.

Most importantly, he is the most independent of the three candidates who are running, and will honestly and fairly represent all citizens.
He strongly supports the residential community which gives Rehoboth its small-town charm and realizes the importance of a vibrant and strong business community.

I know what being a commissioner means and feel that Gary Glass has the qualifications, commitment and heart to do it well. He will work for all of us, and I hope you will join me in voting for him on Aug. 11.

Lorraine Zellers
former commissioner, City of Rehoboth Beach
