Zwaanendael Women’s Club to hold informational meeting Oct. 9

New members welcome to learn about community projects

The GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club will hold an informational meeting for potential members from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave. in Lewes. All women, whether lifelong Lewes residents or new to the area, are encouraged to attend to hear about volunteer opportunities that fit all interests and needs.  

The public-spirited women of the Z Club are dedicated to serving and improving the community, and enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

The organizations they support include Little Grace Kids Closet; Home of the Brave Foundation; Lewes Fire Department; People’s Place Safe Program; Lewes Public Library; Habitat for Humanity; Cape Henlopen High School Scholarship Fund, Food Pantry, and Clothing Closet; People’s Place Group Home for Girls; Lewes Historical Society; Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Foundation; Beebe Nursing School Scholarship Fund; Harry K Baby Pantry; and USO Delaware.

Founded in 1905, the GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and meets the third Tuesday of the month from September through June. For more information, go to www.gfwcZwaanendael.org.
