‘The Happy Sandwich’ author to join online talk Sept. 28

September 22, 2021

Jason Goldstein, author of the new cookbook “The Happy Sandwich,” will join the Lewes Public Library’s Cooks & Books program for a live, online conversation at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28. The event is co-sponsored by Browseabout Books and Edible Delmarva.

Goldstein’s book offers fresh, inspiring new ideas for the ultimate comfort food: sandwiches. The scrumptious recipes make it easy for busy people to come home after a long day to a satisfying, flavorful sandwich. From the Avocado Shrimp Everything Bagel to the Mexican Chicken Sausage and Peppers Sub to the Spinach Artichoke Dip Grilled Cheese, every page will have readers drooling. And, with a whole chapter on variations of grilled cheese, this is the cookbook every sandwich lover needs.

“These are not the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches of your childhood, but a sophisticated collection of artisanal sandwiches bound to make you smile!” said Denise Clemons, event host, Cape Gazette food columnist and author of “A Culinary History of Southern Delaware.”

Goldstein was a finalist on Next Food Network Star Season 14 and finished in the Top 10 in Rachael Ray’s Cookbook Contest. He is a chiropractor by day and food blogger by night. Through his culinary blog, Chop Happy, Goldstein shares his love of easy comfort food recipes showcasing rich flavors, inventive ideas, and unique cooking tips and advice.

The discussion is free to the public. Registration is required. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us and visit the Virtual Programs for Adults page.
