‘Lion Women of Tehran’ author talk set Aug. 14
The Lewes Public Library, AAUW of Delaware and Browseabout Books will host author Marjan Kamali for a discussion of “The Lion Women of Tehran” at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, and online via Zoom.
Set against three transformative decades in Tehran, Iran, the 2024 novel shines a light on the courage, complexity and vibrancy of Iranian women as they navigate their lives amidst political turmoil.
Kamali was born in Turkey to Iranian parents and spent her childhood in Kenya, Germany, Turkey, Iran and the United States. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley, Columbia University, and New York University and is the 2022 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Award.
