Lewes Police Chief Tom Spell says he is meeting with the Attorney General’s Office to agree on a path forward regarding the domestic-related shooting that occurred Dec. 1 on Lewes Beach.
“[We want to] hold the responsible person accountable for their actions,” Spell said.
He is not yet able to release additional information about the incident, which occurred about 7 p.m., Dec. 1, on Breakwater Street.
Police were called to the home after receiving a 911 call from a man who said he had shot his son. Police responded to the scene and took the father into custody.
The son was taken to Beebe Healthcare where he was treated for a gunshot to his left shoulder and chest area. He is in stable condition, Spell said.
Police have not indicated if charges have been filed and no names have been released by Lewes police at this time.
