A Milton woman was charged with driving under the influence Dec. 2 after police say she ran into a telephone pole and private fence.
The woman was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry on Cave Neck Road near Overbrook Drive at about 1 a.m. when she drove off the south side of Cave Neck Road and struck a utility pole, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
The crash knocked out power to 162 Delaware Electric Co-op members for about two hours, said Kevin Yingling, spokesman for the co-op.
Donna M. Bennett, 55, then continued to drive through a private fence before stopping.
She was treated and released from Beebe Healthcare with nonlife-threatening injuries. Bennett was charged with DUI-alcohol, failure to remain in a single lane and no proof of insurance.
