Resort Custom Homes of Lewes wins 2018 Regal Awards

July 9, 2018

Resort Custom Homes of Lewes received the 2018 Regal Award for Best Green Custom Home over 4,000 square feet.

This custom home features a geothermal heating and cooling system, and radiant floor heating controlled by 19 different zones. The metal roof over the full house and a super-insulated foundation provide long-term cost cutting of energy bills, durability and environmental sustainability. Spray foam insulation reduces energy consumption by helping prevent air infiltration and heat transfer. Cedar shingles and composite trim were applied to the whole structure. There are two tankless hot water heaters providing endless hot water, and throughout the home, superior insulated doors and windows were installed. The interior of the home was finished using low VOC flooring, cabinets, countertops and paint. Resort Custom Homes owner Mark Grahne also provides Storm Tuff features that allow homes to withstand the winds and flooding that can occur in coastal areas.

Resort Custom Homes also was awarded the 2018 Regal Delaware Home Builder's Association Award for Best Luxury Custom Home Over $400,000.

The uncompromised luxury of this home was derived from the beauty of the Rehoboth Bay surroundings and from the alignment of sustainable architecture with the natural landscape. This 6,500-plus-square=foot home design includes six exterior decks, pool patio and a multitude of elegant windows and floor-to-ceiling doors that create spectacular views.

Comfort spaces consist of a first-level game room/media center, and separate bar lounge with wine cellar. The second level has an expansive kitchen with bay window seating, living room opening to the main deck, a dining/sunroom area and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water with a covered porch. The top level of this home features a generous owner's suite with a bath that contains a large spa shower, floor-to-ceiling custom cabinets and an outdoor shower. The suite includes a full walk-in closet, separate yoga room, balcony and curved palladium windows for beautiful views. In all, there are four additional suite bedrooms, two offices and more than 1,000 feet of deck areas in this home. Its elegance is unsurpassed in the Rehoboth Bay area.
