August 9, 2018

The Milton Chamber of Commerce is looking for prize sponsors for the Great Milton Duck Race, a fun community event set for 1 p.m. during Bargains on the Broadkill Saturday, Aug. 25, in Milton Memorial Park. This popular annual event is organized by the Milton chamber and benefits its many community efforts.

The festival’s signature event, the Great Milton Duck Race, offers participants the opportunity to win cash prizes. Rubber duckies are for sale at Truckin’ Tuesdays and other Milton community events, and at the festival itself. The ducks are released into the river at 1 p.m. Aug. 25. The entrant whose duckie is the first to cross the finish line receives a cash prize of $500 from the Milton Chamber of Commerce.

The next 24 winners receive cash prizes donated by the community. The chamber invites individuals, businesses, organizations and families to sponsor one of these prizes. Sponsors will be named in marketing materials and announced at the awards ceremony following the race.

Sponsors may choose to donate a prize at a $250, $150, $100, $75 or $50 level. To make a sponsor donation, go to or send a check to Milton Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 61, Milton, DE  19968, noting the check is for the duck race. In order to be recognized on posters, submit donations by Saturday, Aug. 18.

Bargains on the Broadkill’s namesake vendor fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with more than 40 art, craft, collectibles and nonprofit vendors. The 19th annual Irish Eyes kayak race begins at 10 a.m. For more information on the festival, go to or the Milton chamber’s Facebook page.
