A woman died Nov. 3 following a single-vehicle crash on Mount Joy Road near Oak Orchard.
The crash happened at 6:35 a.m. when a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling northbound on Mount Joy Road just north of Cordrey Road attempting to negotiate a moderate right curve, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police. Due to unsafe speed, she said, the driver failed to negotiate the curve causing the Trail Blazer to exit the roadway and strike a utility pole.
The driver, Kristin F. Fell, 32, of Millsboro, was not properly restrained and she was transported to the Beebe Healthcare where she was pronounced dead, Jaffe said.
Mount Joy Road was closed for about three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
An outpouring of support for Fell and her twin 6-month-old children and 9-year-old daughter filled Facebook following the crash. The children are in the care of family members, according to posts.
