Fundraiser at Independence benefits Alzheimer’s Association

Wendy’s Warriors, a group of residents of Schell Brothers Independence 55+ community in Millsboro, has been named the top Rehoboth Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising team.

The team held a variety of events, including its inaugural Level Playing Field 8 Ball Billiard Tournament, organized by Independence resident Miro Gutzmirtl. The event raised $725 and brought the Wendy’s Warriors fundraising total to $19,285, far surpassing the team’s goal of $8,500 toward the Rehoboth Walk, which was held Sept. 29 at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach.
